Ward 4 Mutual aid

Ward 4 Mutual Aid is a group of Washington, DC neighbors helping neighbors.

Everyone deserves Support

We provide food, diapers, and supplies to neighbors in Ward 4 — no questions asked, no strings attached.

Starting May 2023, we are only open one Saturday per month!

On the following dates, please find us at Brightwood Park United Methodist Church at 744 Jefferson St NW. We will offer gift cards, diapers, and other items as available to the first 100 families:

  • Sat May 20 – 12 noon*
  • Sat June 24 – 12 noon*

*We will also offer a limited number of home deliveries on these same Saturdays.  If you physically cannot make it to the church on a Wednesday or Saturday, please call or text the Ward 4 Mutual Aid Hotline 202-681-3098 to sign up for delivery.

No registration or other requirements.

Do you need additional food? You can now get food from Bread for the City by picking it up at 1525 7th St NW. Food bags are available Monday-Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, and 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The number of bags you can receive is based on the size of your family. Bring DC ID or proof of residency. Learn more at breadforthecity.org/food.

Questions for Ward 4 Mutual Aid?  Please call or text our volunteer team on the Ward 4 Mutual Aid Hotline at 202-681-3098.

We are 100% volunteer-run — and new volunteers are warmly welcome! If you can field phone calls, manage and pack supplies, make deliveries, or enhance relationships in the community, we want you to be part of Ward 4 Mutual Aid.

Contribute supplies

We regularly need supplies including diapers, personal hygiene kits, and more. We have limited space and can no longer accept children’s clothing and other household items.

We help anyone, no questions asked. To make that possible we depend on donations from neighbors like you. Donate today to support this work. In particular, monthly donations – no matter their size — help us resource our work predictably and are especially meaningful.
